SEN Information Report

Swiss Cottage School, Development and Research Centre is a maintained special school with a complex needs designation. Our learners are aged 4-19 and are identified with a range of layered needs. This can include Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties, Severe Learning Difficulties, Moderate Learning Difficulties, Autistic Spectrum Conditions, Communication Disorders, and Social Emotional Mental Health Needs.  Our provision focuses on personalised learning to meet the holistic needs of the class group. As a school community, we are committed to providing a vibrant and fulfilling offer to our learners.

All of our learners have an Education Health Care Plan or Statement of Educational Needs. The annual review process is built on Person Centred Planning, actively involving the child or young person and their community of support. We are committed to partnership working through a collaborative approach with internal and external agencies. Our staff have a range of specialist qualifications to promote personalised learning throughout the school day.

What is a Local Offer?

The Local Offer provides information about what is available across education, health, and social care for children and young people in Camden. These services are specifically for children and young people who have Special Educational Needs and/or disability. The provisions identified in the Local Offer will be in Camden, and can also include services outside of Camden which is likely to be used by children and young people with SEN.

What is the purpose of the Local Offer?

The Local Offer aims to provide clear, comprehensive, accessible and up-to-date information about the available provision and how to access it. In the long term, it will make provision more responsive to local needs and aspirations by directly children and young people with SEN and/or disability in reviewing the local offer and identifying what else is needed.

What does the Local Offer mean for the Swiss Cottage School community?

The provision at Swiss Cottage School is a part of the local offer. Swiss Cottage School is a six times outstanding school and our provision is very clear in its commitment to meeting the full need of our learners.

Swiss Cottage School is working with Camden Local Authority to ensure our children, young people, and families understand what the local offer provides and how to access additional useful services.
